Sony voegt high-end-model toe aan NEX-cameralijn
Sony heeft zijn NEX-cameralijn uitgebreid met de NEX-7, het nieuwe topmodel in de serie, en de NEX-5N, een update van het huidige NEX-5-model. Daarnaast kondigt het bedrijf een nieuwe camcorder, lenzen en -accessoires aan in de NEX-lijn.
De NEX-7 heeft een ingebouwde oled-evf met 2,4 miljoen subpixels. Bij de NEX-7 is deze aan de linkerkant geplaatst, waardoor ook gebruikers met een dominant linkeroog genoeg ruimte hebben. De elektronische zoeker heeft een 100 procent beelddekking en neemt in vergelijking met bijvoorbeeld de evf van de Panasonic Lumix G3 beduidend minder ruimte in. Bovenop in het midden van de camera zit de ingebouwde opklapflitser verstopt.
De NEX-7 heeft naast de d-pad ook twee extra instelwieltjes in de bovenkant van de magnesium body, terwijl ook het aantal knoppen verhoogd is. Daardoor zijn er meer bedieningselementen dan bij voorgaande NEX-modellen.
Daarnaast heeft de NEX-7 een ingebouwde opklapflitser, een naar beneden en boven kantelbare 3"-vga-lcd en kan de camera overweg met MS Pro(-HG) Duo- en sd/sdhc/sdxc-geheugenkaartjes. De NEX-7 is voorzien van een Alpha A-mount flitsschoen, zodat bijvoorbeeld ook Sony's grotere opzetflitsers en de CLM-V55-clip-on lcd-monitor gebruikt kunnen worden. Tevens is de camera voorzien van een kantelbare 3"-lcd met 921.600 subpixels en kan een externe microfoon in de NEX-7 gestopt worden.

The SLT-A55 is a new twist to the conventional SLR, with a translucent glass that allows the most light through, so the camera can shoot and focus at a time.
